About Saint Laurent
Founded in 1961, Saint Laurent is one of the more contemporary luxury fashion houses compared to its competitors. The brand started as an Haute Couture Maison and transitioned to ready-to-wear five years later. A number of celebrated creative directors have been at the helm of the House, such as Alber Elbaz, Tom Ford and Hedi Slimane.
Following the passing of the founder, YSL’s prêt-à-porter line became Saint Laurent, but the brand’s accessories and cosmetics are still under the name of Yves Saint Laurent. The YSL logo plaque still adorns many of the accessories, too.
