Established in 1833, this luxury Swiss watch manufacturer has a long history of creative engineering. A self-taught watchmaker, Antoine Lecoultre was the son of a blacksmith, who was taught to merge intellect and creation. In doing so, began his first watch-making factory in the small barn on his family’s property.

He started the company at the age of 30. In 1844, LeCoultre created the Millionometre, the most accurate and precise instrument of time measurement at the time and in 851 won the gold medal at the Universal Exposition in London. As he strived to continue to make new and innovative watches, he was challenged by Edmond Jaeger to create one of the thinnest watches, to match the ultra-thin movements he had created.

As this led to a roaring success, they decided to pair their innovative minds and joined forces in 1937, establishing the brand Jaeger LeCoultre and cementing themselves as a global watchmakers.
