    About Men's Tiffany Jewelry

No newcomer to the men’s jewelry market, Tiffany & Co. started selling stylish bijoux for both sexes shortly after its 1837 start as a stationery and fancy goods emporium called Tiffany & Young. The rest, as they say, is history.

    Charles Lewis Tiffany

By the time Charles Lewis Tiffany bought out his partners and renamed the store Tiffany & Co. in 1853, its men’s pocket watches were already wildly popular. Tiffany & Co. would go on to create the first American stopwatch in 1868 and, in the 1870s, have enough business to warrant building a watchmaking manufactory in Geneva. Even as the century wore on and the store became identified with women’s jewelry and diamonds, Tiffany continued to do a thriving business in men’s watches, jewelry, and accessories, selling everything from gold signet rings to silver spurs.

And so it remained through most of the 20th century, a reputable, reliable place for a man to buy his wedding band and watch or wear-to-work jewelry like cuff links and tie clips. Or for his wife and kids to buy Father’s Day presents like keychains, money clips, or silver pens. You could always count on Tiffany’s. Whatever it offered its male customers was modest, masculine, and understated.

    21st Century

Fast forward to the second decade of the 21st century, when the store began debuting collections, like Atlas and HardWear, that included more men’s and unisex pieces. Suddenly, Tiffany was making its bracelets in bigger sizes and offering diamond-set bands alongside those impeccably conservative men’s wedding rings. Longtime Tiffany designer Paloma Picasso came up with a capsule collection called Caliper, which she said was inspired by her husband’s love of classic cars and auto racing. Next she did Groove, a complete collection of men’s jewelry ranging over everything from titanium cuffs to sterling silver shirt studs to a rose gold band set with a diamond. While Picasso’s thick, tactile designs were undoubtedly masculine, few would describe them as modest. And no one was going to call them understated.

    Reed Krakoff

As it turned out, Tiffany’s was just getting started. Under new creative director Reed Krakoff, the store would double down on its men’s business. In the Fall of 2019, the jeweler unveiled Tiffany Men’s at a swanky shindig at the Hollywood Athletic Club attended by celebrities decked in jewelry and watches from the brand’s three new collections for men.

Emceed by actor Jeff Goldblum (who sported a $110,000 Schlumberger diamond brooch on the lapel of his Tom Ford tuxedo), the event made the most of what Krakoff calls “experiential content” and branding, with guests playing foosball on a Tiffany blue table and billiards on a Tiffany blue pool table. At its basketball arcade game, the likes of Aussie actor/dancer/model Cody Simpson were photographed tossing Tiffany blue basketballs. Watch collector Justin Theroux was photographed wearing the latest Tiffany 1837 Makers model on his wrist. While rapper A$AP Ferg, who’d recorded a Moon River rap for Tiffany the year before, was decked in chains, bracelets, a watch, and a crossbody handbag in Tiffany blue.

    The Latest Men's Tiffany Jewelry

Head to its Fifth Avenue flagship, one of its other 300-plus stores, or its website and you’ll find men’s Tiffany jewelry concentrated among the three collections ballyhooed at the Hollywood launch:

Diamond Point. Borrowing from hardware and high-tech, this collection uses knurling as its design signature (that's the diamond-patterned texture usually found on cameras, tools, and machinery, where it's added to improve grip). At Tiffany's, you'll now find it on everything from pendants and rings to menorahs and barware.

Tiffany 1837 Makers. Capitalizing on hand forging and the distinctive Tiffany hallmark, this collection focuses on I.D. bracelets, dogtag necklaces, rings, and watches with a squared, retro-looking case (including a couple of models with bands or faces in—you guessed it—Tiffany blue).

Tiffany T. Riffing on a T-bar shape, this collection turns the store’s initial into everything from chains to cuffs and includes everything from matte black coated steel to pavé diamonds.

How Much Is My Men's Tiffany Jewelry Worth?

The value of your Tiffany & Co. jewelry is determined by several factors:

    • Jewelry Type: Are you selling a traditional item like a ring, watch, or set of cufflinks? Or an accessory like a money clip, keychain, or cigarette lighter?
    • Age: Was your piece made in the 19th or 20th century? Or is it of more recent vintage, like Tiffany’s narrow cuff or leather-and-gold bracelet?
    • Metal: Is your piece made from gold, platinum, sterling silver, titanium, or coated steel?
    • Gemstones: Does your piece incorporate diamonds? Be sure to specify the total carat weight of gemstones (you should find that information on the paperwork that came with the jewelry).
    • Condition: Do the clasps still work correctly? Are any stones missing? If your jewelry has minor signs of wear, its value will be stronger. If it incorporates other materials, like leather, what is the condition of the leather? Alternatively, jewelry that has significant wear and damage will have a lower value to compensate for the cost of any repairs.
    • Box and Papers: When originally bought, your Tiffany & Co. jewelry came with a branded box and presentation case. You may also have a receipt for the purchase. These materials are all desirable for collectors as they demonstrate the authenticity of your jewelry and will increase its overall value.
    • Service or Repairs: Have you sent your jewelry for polishing or repair? Have you sent your watch to Tiffany’s for service? Documentation for dates of service and receipts are also helpful.
